Deanery Märkisches Sauerland

The Märkisches Sauerland deanery is a deanery of the Roman Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Paderborn . With eleven pastoral associations, it includes the cities of Iserlohn , Menden , Hemer and Balve as well as part of the city of Neuenrade . The seat of the deanery is in the Hemer house , the current dean is Pastor Jürgen Senkbeil from the parish of St. Peter and Paul . The deanery was created on July 1, 2006 from the former deaneries Iserlohn and Menden . 90,000 parishioners live in the 38 parishes, the number of employees is 59.

Until 2007, the parish of St. Theresia in Evingsen belonged to the Märkisches Sauerland dean's office, before it moved to the Altena pastoral network ( Altena-Lüdenscheid dean's office ).

The company runs a number of charitable institutions such as the “Carichic” clothing store in Hemer, the “Hab & Gut” furniture store in Menden and the “CariTasche” food service in Iserlohn.
