Diana Jorgowa (athlete)

Diana Jorgowa ( Bulgarian Диана Йоргова * 9. December 1942 in Lovech ) is a Bulgarian athlete who was successful in the 1960s in the long jump. The ten-time Bulgarian champion was able to win two silver medals at the Olympic Games and European Championships. At the end of her long career, she became European indoor champion in 1973.

  A comparison of the four best jumps of the two first placed shows that the inferiority of the Bulgarian was greater than the one centimeter suggests. Jorgowa only had one jump over 6.70 m, while Rosendahl had four:

  Rosendahl: 6.78 - 6.76 - 6.73 - 6.71

  • European Indoor Championships 1973 in Rotterdam : Gold with 6.45 m ahead of the Czech Jarmila Nygrýnová with 6.30 m and the Polish Mirosława Sarna with 6.15 m
