The seventh season of the American animated series The Simpsons was broadcast from September 17, 1995 to May 19, 1996 on the US broadcaster Fox . The German-language first broadcast was broadcast by the private broadcaster ProSieben from November 4, 1996 to December 28, 1999, with the sixth episode of the series Die Panik-Amok-Horror-Show only being broadcast on December 28, 1999.

The season was released on DVD on December 13, 2005 in the United States and on May 4, 2006 in Germany.

Flanders realizes that his new protégés are not baptized and wants to do so immediately. However, Homer can prevent this in time.

Bart and Milhouse discuss the subject of the soul . Bart believes the soul does not exist and sells Milhouse his own soul for five dollars. He writes the word soul on a piece of paper and sells it. However, Bart can no longer laugh later and is otherwise no longer capable of any sensations. He desperately tries to get the note back. Milhouse is now asking for fifty dollars. Meanwhile, Moe turns his bar into a restaurant for the whole family.

Homer visits his mother's supposed grave and discovers that she is not actually buried there. His mother appears at Homer's: It turns out that she is not dead, but on the run from the police. Just before Christmas, Bart steals a video game and is caught doing it. He is then banned from the house . He can initially prevent his parents from finding out until they decide to have a family photo taken in the same shop. Disappointed with Bart, Marge is now distant from him. Bart wants to appease Marge with a Christmas present. But when she sees him sneaking into the house, she thinks he stole something again. When she sees the present (a picture of Bart) everything is back to normal.

Homer wants to start a bowling team and needs $ 500 to do it. He gets the money from Mr. Burns, but only because he is not in full possession of his mental powers. When Mr. Burns can think clearly again, he wants the money back. When he arrives at the bowling alley, he spontaneously decides to join the team, which seems to be the end of the team's winning streak. Several attempts to get rid of Mr. Burns fail. The team ultimately wins the trophy, which, to the annoyance of the others, is claimed by Burns alone. Meanwhile, the elementary school students have to wear uniforms because Bart came to school with a provocative T-shirt.

Ex-President George Bush moves in across from the Simpsons. After Bart destroys Bush's memoirs , he gets a few blows on the buttocks from him. Homer then demands an apology from Bush. Since the latter refuses, a bitter neighborhood dispute ensues between the two, which ends with Bush moving out.

After Marge found a Chanel costume on sale , she was invited to a posh country club. A little later she should also be officially accepted into the club. For the occasion, she wants to change her costume to make it look new, but in the process she ruins it completely. Homer happens to find out that Mr. Burns' years of golfing success was a scam. To keep Homer silent, Mr. Burns makes sure that the family is accepted into the club. On the way to the introductory party, however, Marge notices that her efforts to be accepted into high society have also changed her character. Eventually she backs down.

When Smithers goes on vacation, Homer becomes his deputy - and brings up Mr. Burns to unimaginable independence. Homer knocks down Mr. Burns and quits his temporary job. Burns now has to cope on his own, which works so well that he dismisses Smithers. Homer then helps Smithers get his post back.

They signed a gentlemen's agreement or tontine ; Nevertheless, Burns wants the treasure to himself and would rather kill Grampa than wait for it to die. However, the booty later goes to the rightful owner from Germany.
