The eighteenth season of the American animated series The Simpsons was broadcast from September 10, 2006 to May 20, 2007 on the US broadcaster Fox . The German-language free TV first broadcast was broadcast by ProSieben from September 9, 2007 to January 27, 2008.

The season was released on DVD on December 5, 2017 in the United States and December 11, 2017 in Germany.

After the school children have to be carpooled in Springfield, the Simpsons learn that Michael is the son of the mobster Fat Tony. When the Calabresis, members of a rival family, shoot Tony down, Michael is supposed to take over his father's Mafia business. However, he does not initially want to pursue his father's career, but rather become a chef, which his father does not like at all. At a meal he organized with the heads of the warring Mafia families, Michael poisoned them, so that he finally seems to be following his father's career.

She wants to earn money with it, but fails because nobody wants to hire a female carpenter. Homer now appears in the foreground as a specialist and accepts the orders, while Marge does the work in secret. Marge is increasingly dissatisfied with her shadowy existence. Homer, who is now famous as a master carpenter, is now supposed to tell the public the truth, according to Marge. But because Homer refuses, Marge throws the job down insulted. Homer takes on the repair of Springfield's historic wooden roller coaster alone, which doesn't end well. Meanwhile, Bart takes advantage of Skinner's allergy to peanuts.

The US Army is trying to convince the children of Springfield Elementary School to report to the Army when they are 18. Bart signs a preliminary contract and proudly brings it home. Marge is appalled by this and sends Homer to the military office to undo this. Finally, Homer can be recruited. In a simulation, Homer should now be used as a training target.

She wants to open an exhibition in front of her own house, but Homer accidentally completely destroys it with the ice cream truck.

Nelson orders his classmates to come to his birthday party under threat of violence. When Marge sees an old vacation video in an outdoor cinema, she remembers her childhood and the great holidays in Barnacle Bay. When she and her family go there, however, she notices that what is now Barnacle Bay has been badly run down and has nothing to do with her beautiful childhood memories. The cause is the disappearance of the yum yum fish as a result of overfishing , which formerly provided tourists and thus prosperity on the island. After Homer burns down the local jetty at fireworks which Marge is supposed to remind of her childhood, he is supposed to pay his debts by going fishing. On the high seas, he succeeds in catching the yum yum fish for the first time in years. Bart also sneaked on the ship because Marge and Lisa wanted to visit a museum. In a storm, the ship capsizes and there is a funeral for the missing people on the ship. At the funeral, Homer, Bart and the rest of the sailors appear surprised and tell that they were found by a Japanese fishing boat. When the villagers learn that the Yum Yum fish has reappeared, they all want to go fishing. Lisa warns them, however, that they would over-fish the sea again and refrains from doing so. As a result, however, the islanders begin to cut down their trees.

Three short stories follow, all about revenge. They are about the Count of Monte Christo , Milhouse, who uses a high-tech glove to take revenge on his classmates, and Batman.

She's even supposed to give a speech about it at Springfield's Multicultural Day.

After a mishap, the Simpsons' photo album was destroyed and Marge decides to restore all of the photos. In the recreated photos, the background reveals a celebrity scandal. As a result, Homer becomes the highest- traded paparazzo in Springfield. However, the humiliated celebrities no longer want to put up with this.

They also take their "prey" during the subsequent missions, which Skinner does not like. Meanwhile, Maggie goes crazy when Marge follows advice from Parenting Magazine and takes the pacifier away from her.

Because Kent Brockman cursed during the show, the station is fined heavily. Kent Brockman is fired while some shows are slashed. With Lisa's help, he starts a news broadcast on the Internet. Because of the unpleasant truths of the government and the broadcaster, and the success of the show, Kent is recruited for his old job with a raise.
