The thirteenth season of the American animated series The Simpsons was broadcast from November 6, 2001 to May 22, 2002 on the US broadcaster Fox . The German-language free TV first broadcast was broadcast by ProSieben from February 8, 2003 to July 5, 2003.
The season was released on DVD on August 24, 2010 in the United States and October 29, 2010 in Germany. The Blu-ray release took place in the United States on August 24, 2010. In Germany, the season was released on December 1, 2010 on Blu-ray.

After Homer caused a power outage in all of Springfield during a heat wave and looting occurs that Chief Wiggum and the Springfield police cannot prevent, Homer decides to set up their own security service called "Springshield" with Lenny and Carl . Quimby replaces the police with Springshield and appoints Homer as the new chief of police. Homer then runs into problems with the Mafia. However, Maggie is able to save Homer with a sniper rifle. |
