action

Dr. Mayen's secretary is on the train with a large amount of money when he is killed in an attack while on the move. Then you turn on the detective Stuart Webbs. Soon he can uncover the background of the crime and identify the banker Birnsen, who is facing ruin, as the mastermind. The executing organs of the devious attack were his mistress, called "the gray magpie", and the crook Briks. Unmasked by Webbs, the bankrupt banker kills himself.

Production notes

The gray magpie was filmed in the spring of 1920 and was premiered on May 14, 1920 in Munich. The four-act film was 1206 meters long and was banned from young people. In Austria, the film was announced for September 17, 1920 with a length of around 1400 meters.
