Stuart Webbs is hired to investigate a number of hotel break-ins. When suddenly a murder occurs in this environment, the case becomes explosive for him. Webbs also has an idea who could be the culprit. A quick-change artist would have the skills to get in and out of any room unnoticed. Unfortunately, this very suspect has an alibi. But then Stuart finds out that this alibi was a fake, because during the period in question he was represented by an equally changeable lady. Webbs can arrange for the villain to be arrested.

The Secret of an Hour was filmed in the early autumn of 1925 in the Geiselgasteig studio near Munich. The film passed censorship on November 17, 1925 and was banned from young people. The premiere took place on February 4, 1926 in the Schauburg. The six-act film was 1974 meters long.
