Djené Dakonam Ortega (born December 31, 1991 in Dapaong , Savanes region ), also known as Djené , is a Togolese football player who plays for the Spanish club Getafe FC . Mainly a center- back , he can also play as a right full-back .
Club career
Djené moved to Tonnerre d'Abomey in Benin in 2009 after completing his youth training with Étoile Filante du Togo . In 2011 he moved to Cotonsport Garoua in the Cameroon Première Division and became a regular player there.
He was part of Coton Sport's squad for the 2012 CAF Champions League . In November 2013, he completed a trial training with the Ligue 2 team RC Lens , after which he returned to his regular club.
On October 25, Djené was signed by the Spanish Segunda División team AD Alcorcón . The following day he made his debut in a 3-1 home loss to Real Zaragoza .
On March 23, 2015, Djené extended his contract until 2018 after becoming a regular at the club. On May 9, he scored his first goal in an away win against CE Sabadell .
On July 1, 2016 Djené was signed by the Belgian first division club VV Sint-Truidense . He returned to Spain on July 24 of the following year after signing a four-year deal with La Liga team Getafe CF.
Djené made his debut in the top division of Spanish football on August 20, 2017, playing in a 0-0 away game against Athletic Bilbao . He scored his first goal in the Primera División on March 17 when he scored the equalizer in a 2-1 away loss to Real Sociedad .
National team
He made his debut on September 8, 2012 with a 1-1 draw against Gabon for the Togolese national team . Djené was nominated in Didier Six's 23-man squad for the 2013 Africa Cup , appeared in all Togo games during the tournament and was eliminated in the quarter-finals. He has been the selection captain since 2017.
