The Egyptian Premier League 1948/49 was the first season of the Egyptian Premier League , the highest Egyptian championship in football . The season began on October 22, 1948, and not all of the results are known. Champion was al Ahly SC from the capital Cairo .
Participating teams
The following eleven teams took part in the Egyptian Premier League in the 1948/49 season. Four teams came from Alexandria , two each from Giza and Cairo and one each from Ismailia , Port Fuad and Port Said .

- Mohamed Amin scored the first goal of the Egyptian Premier League for Farouq Club . In this game Farouq Club beat al-Masry 5-1 , Suad Rustom scored a hat trick.
- The game results of the championship team from Cairo ( al Ahly SC ) are known. Al Ahly SC won eight games to zero and lost one time without scoring a goal. Al Ahly SC's highest win was the 7-0 win over Al-Sekka Al-Hadid , making the game the championship- winning game alongside the 5-2 win at El-Olympi . al Ahly SC lost only one home game to al-Ittihad Al-Sakndary .
