English Rugby Union Championship 2006/07

The 2006/07 season of the English Premiership was the 20th season of the major division of the English Rugby Union Championship. For sponsorship reasons it was called the Guinness Premiership . It began on September 2, 2006, comprised 22 match days (one preliminary and one second round) and lasted until April 28, 2007. The four best-placed teams then qualified for the semi-finals, the semi-final winners met on May 12, 2007 in the final Twickenham Stadium on top of each other. The Leicester Tigers won the championship title for the seventh time , while the Northampton Saints had to relegate .

    The season of the second division ( National Division One ) consisted of 30 game days (one first and one second round). The best-placed team, the Leeds Tykes , rose to the Premiership. Two teams were relegated to National Division Two, Otley RUFC and Waterloo RFC .
