Until the end of 2014, Krumegg was a municipality with 1,450 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2014) in Styria in the east of the Graz-Umgebung district . As part of the Styrian community structural reform , it has been merged with the community of Sankt Marein bei Graz and the community of Petersdorf II (located in the district of Southeast Styria ) since 2015 , the new community continues to bear the name Sankt Marein bei Graz. The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.

Erkoschlösschen
The Erko family, after whom the small castle ⊙ is named, commissioned the building in the 19th century on a hill in Brunn-Schaufel in the area of the municipality of Krumegg. It was built near a medieval fortification that no longer exists today, which was provided with a sovereign fiefdom and a truce . Around 1870 it was owned by the Barons von Lederer-Trattner.
The German writer Nina d'Aubigny von Engelbrunner (1770–1847) moved to the Erkoschlösschen after the death of her nephews Eduard and Georg Horstig in 1828. She died in 1847 and was buried in the Nestelbach parish cemetery near Graz . Until a few years ago, the small castle was also known as the “Bethanien Monastery”. The Erkoschlösschen was inhabited by the Dominican Sisters of Bethanien from 1960 until it passed into private ownership a few years ago.
