The Eschweiler Music Festival , abbreviated EMF , has been an annual, free-of-charge open-air music festival in Eschweiler in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1992 . The venue is the market square in Eschweiler's old town . The organizer is Eschweiler Max Krieger Kulturmanagement GmbH . The festival is connected with a pub rally, in which music groups perform free of charge in the numerous pubs in the old town. Traditionally, the EMF service with gospel takes place on Sunday morning in the adjacent church of St. Peter and Paul . Since 2016 the stage has been in front of the church and no longer on the opposite side of the market. The EMF is visited by over 10,000 spectators every year.
