Eva-Maria Beiter-Schwärzler , b. Schwärzler , (born December 26, 1988 in Dornbirn ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with the ZSC Lions in the Swiss Women's Hockey League A (SWHL A).

Career

Eva-Maria Schwärzler began ice hockey at the age of eight in the junior division of the Dornbirn EC . With the - also male - youth teams of the DEC she won numerous national and regional titles, among other things she was Austrian boy master in 2002 and Austrian school master in 2004. Then, at the age of 15, she moved to Switzerland to DSC Oberthurgau in order to develop further in sports and to play in a higher-class league. So she was also the first Austrian player in the Swiss Performance Class A .

In 2007 she was the first Austrian female ice hockey player to receive a sports scholarship for a US college and played for one and a half years for the ice hockey team at Bemidji State University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In November 2008 she had to leave college in Minnesota due to illness and was unable to do so until March 2009, when she made her debut for EC The Ravens Salzburg in the Austrian state championship and won her first state championship with the Ravens . A year later she finished second with the Ravens in the 2009/10 season of the Elite Women's Hockey League .

For the 2010/11 season she moved back to Switzerland and was signed by the ZSC Lions women's team . A season later she won the Swiss championship with the ZSC Lions and was the second best scorer in the entire league. In 2012 and 2013 two more championship titles followed with the Lions, before she moved to SC Weinfelden for one season in 2014 due to the proximity to her place of residence . In 2015 she returned to the ZSC Lions and won another championship title with the team in 2016.

At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, she was still in the Lions' squad, but withdrew from the game due to lack of time and has since kept fit in the Dornbirn EC's offspring.

International

Eva Schwärzler was appointed to the women's national team early on in her career and, at the age of 15, had already played 29 international matches in which she had scored twelve goals and 15 assists. At the 2004 World Cup , she made it with the national team from Division III to Division II, and at the 2008 World Cup from this to Division I. In addition, she took part in three qualifying tournaments for the Winter Olympic Games with the women's selection, but never qualified.

By 2016, she had played 121 international matches, in which she had scored 99 goals and prepared a further 72 goals.
