Ferland Mendy (born June 8, 1995 in Meulan-en-Yvelines ) is a French football player who is under contract with Real Madrid .

Career

society

Mendy, whose parents immigrated to France from Senegal , began playing football at Paris Saint-Germain and joined the Football Club Mantois in Mantes-la-Jolie for a year in 2012 . In 2013 he was taken on by the youth department of Le Havre AC . For the club's B team, he completed 20 games in the fifth-class CFA-2 in the 2013/14 season and finally made his debut for the professional team in April 2015 on the 33rd match day of the 2014/15 second division season .

In the summer of 2017, Mendy was sold to Olympique Lyon for at least five million euros . He made his Ligue 1 debut on August 26, 2017 in the game against FC Nantes and since then he has played regularly, including seven times in the 2017/18 Europa League , in which he reached the round of 16 with Olympique Lyon. He finished third in the 2017/18 season with the team and reached the round of 16 in the following UEFA Champions League season .

For the 2019/20 season, Mendy moved to the Spanish Primera División for Real Madrid . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2025.

In November 2018, coach Didier Deschamps nominated Mendy for the first time for the French senior team .
