Federico Valverde , full name Federico Santiago Valverde Dipetta , (born July 22, 1998 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
The 1.82 meter tall midfielder Valverde comes from the youth department of Peñarol Montevideo . At least since the Apertura 2015 he has been in the professional squad of the "Aurinegros". He made his debut in the Primera División on August 16, 2015 in a 3-0 away win against Club Atlético Cerro , when he was called into the starting line-up by coach Pablo Bengoechea . In the 2015/16 season he played twelve first division matches (no goal), one game (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2016 and won the Uruguayan championship with the team. On reaching the age of 18, he moved to Real Madrid on July 22, 2016 , where he is initially in the squad for Real Madrid Castilla . In the 2016/17 season he scored three times in the opposing goal in 30 league appearances. He also played six times (no goal) for the U19 Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League . In July 2016 he was loaned to the first division club Deportivo La Coruña .
For the season 2018/19 returned to Madrid Valverde back and is since then in the first team squad.
National team
U15
Valverde made his debut on November 13, 2012 under coach Alejandro Garay in a 2-1 win in the friendly against Newell's Old Boys in the Uruguayan U-15 national team . He took part with the team at the U-15 South American Championship in Bolivia in 2013 , where Uruguay finished sixth and Valverde scored a tournament goal. He also participated in the Torneo Tahuichi Aguilera 2013 in Bolivia and in the Caspian Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan . At the Copa México de Naciones 2013 he failed with the U15 only in the final. He made a total of 25 international matches in this age group and scored seven goals.
U17
In the Uruguayan U-17 selection , he was used for the first time by the responsible coach Santiago Ostolaza in the 3-0 away win in the friendly international against Paraguay on May 13, 2014. He was a member of the squad at the U-17 South American Championship in Paraguay in 2015 , in which Uruguay finished 5th. Before the start of the tournament, he had 16 international matches and four goals in the U17. During the tournament he was used eight times and scored seven goals. No further missions were made.
U18
On May 1, 2015, he was used by Garay for the first time in the 2-1 win against France in the Suwon JS Cup in the Uruguayan U18. Valverde scored both goals for Uruguay from penalties. He was also used in this tournament against Belgium. He was also nominated for the U-18 tournament in July 2015 in Los Angeles . Uruguay won the competition. Valverde played in the matches against the USA and the Czech Republic and scored the 1-0 winner in the latter game to win the tournament. Further U-18 appearances date from July 13, 2015 in a friendly against Xolos de Tijuana and from October 12, 2015 against Russia.
U20
Since the first two international matches of the year in March 2016, he has also been a member of Uruguay's U-20 team under coach Fabián Coito and made his debut on March 22, 2016 with a starting eleven and a goal in the 3: 4 defeat against Paraguay. Two days later he made his second appearance in the second leg against the same opponent. So far (as of August 23, 2017) he has been featured in 21 international matches in this age group and scored five goals. He was on the squad for the 2017 U-20 World Cup , where he was awarded the Silver Ball ( Balón de Plata ) for the tournament's second best player.
A national team
In August 2017, Óscar Tabárez appointed him to the senior national team of Uruguay for the first time for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Argentina and Paraguay .
