Reports

background

For the Formula 3 Masters 2013, 24 drivers from the German Formula 3 Cup , the European Formula 3 Championship and the Super GT competed .

Seven drivers started with Volkswagen , 16 drivers with Mercedes-Benz - and one driver with a Nissan engine.

Qualifying

In the first qualifying segment, Felix Rosenqvist was the fastest driver in the field. Harry Tincknell and Alex Lynn followed behind him .

The second qualifying phase did not change the order of the top 10. Only seven drivers improved in this section.

The pole position thus went to Rosenqvist before Tincknell and Lynn.

run

Rosenqvist started well from pole position and kept the lead. Tincknell lost two places to Lynn and Emil Bernstorff at the start and was in fourth position after the first lap.

On lap five Sven Müller and Lucas Auer collide when Auer tried to overtake on the start / finish straight. While Auer slipped into the gravel and was eliminated immediately, Müller was still able to steer his vehicle into the pit lane. However, he had to finish his race there too.

On lap twelve, Sean Gelael also retired after a driving error with a subsequent collision with the guardrail.

At the head of the field, Rosenqvist separated from the rest of the field and did not give up the lead for the entire race. It was the second time since 2011 that Rosenqvist won the Formula 3 Masters. Lynn and Bernstorff crossed the finish line in second and third place, followed by Tincknell, Eddie Cheever III and Jordan King .
