The Guinea Franc ( ISO-4217 code : GNF) is the currency of Guinea .
With the independence of Guinea, a currency reform was carried out, from which the Guinean franc emerged in 1960. In 1972 he was replaced by the Syli .
The current Guinean franc was introduced in 1986 and replaced the Syli. It is issued by the Central Bank of Guinea (Banque Centrale de la République de Guinée).
Cash exists in the form of coins of 1, 5, 10, 25 and 50 francs and banknotes of 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000 francs. Units under 500 Francs are in fact no longer in circulation due to their low value.
