The Franklin Strait is a strait in the Canadian-Arctic Archipelago in the Canadian territory of Nunavut .

It is located between the southeast coast of Prince of Wales Island and the Boothia Peninsula and connects Peel Sound in the north with Larsen Sound in the southwest. The Bellot Strait runs east from Franklin Strait to the Gulf of Boothia .

The strait was named after the English explorer Sir John Franklin (1786–1847). This was killed in the arctic waters of this region.
