The Penny Strait is a strait in Nunavut ( Canada ), the Bathurst Iceland (in the southwest) from the Grinnell Peninsula of Devon Iceland separates (in the east). Both islands belong to the Queen Elizabeth Islands and thus to the Canadian Arctic archipelago . The strait is 90 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide and joins the Queens Channel in the south and the part of the sea ​​surrounded by Devon, Bathurst, Helena , Cameron , Lougheed , King Christian , Ellef Ringnes , Amund Ringnes and Cornwall Island in the north . It is named after its discoverer William Penny .
