The Austin Channel (German Austin Canal ) is a strait in the Kitikmeot region of the Nunavut Province in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago . It separates Byam Martin Island and Melville Island in the west from Bathurst Island and the offshore Alexander Island in the east. In the north is the Byam Martin Channel , in the south the Viscount Melville Sound .
