The Fisher Strait is a strait in Nunavut ( Canada ) that separates the two islands of Southampton Island (in the north) and Coats Island (in the south) in the north of Hudson Bay . The strait in the Canadian-Arctic archipelago is 100 kilometers long and 70 kilometers wide. To the east of the strait is Evans Strait and to the southwest is the open Hudson Bay.
