The Bundesliga teams from Frankfurt, Hennef and DEC Berlin had to be relegated to Group North. There they met teams from Herne , Brackwede , Grefrath and Moers from the Regionalliga NRW and from Braunschweig , which participated due to the waiver of the ES Weißwasser . To top up the southern group, EC Stuttgart from the Baden-Württemberg league and EV Landshut and EV Pfronten from the Bayern league were able to rise directly.
Due to the strength of the league, the top four in the Bundesliga group north and the first two in group south took part in the final round.
