For the fans of VfL Bochum it is considered the “game of the century” and is also the only game in the Bundesliga so far in which a team was able to convert a 4-0 deficit into a win. The game

FC Bayern, who had played Tennis Borussia Berlin 9-0 on the previous matchday and had five players ( Maier , Beckenbauer , Schwarzenbeck , Hoeneß and Müller ) from the 1974 world championship team , faced a sensitive threat when VfL Bochum played unrestrainedly Defeat. Despite this defeat, VfL Bochum was able to hold onto the class at the end of the 1976/77 season with one point ahead of the relegated Karlsruher SC and only had to make its way to the 2nd Bundesliga 16 years later . FC Bayern finished seventh at the end of the season and thus just qualified for the UEFA Cup , where they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt in the round of 16 .
