NGC 1207 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Perseus in the northern sky . It is an estimated 219 million light years from the Milky Way and about 150,000 light years in diameter. Together with NGC 1233 and PGC 12070 , it forms the NGC 1207 group .
The galaxy NGC 1213 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by William Herschel on October 18, 1786 .
