Nature reserve "Fuhlensee and surroundings"

The Fuhlensee and the surrounding area is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein community of Ruhwinkel in the Plön district .

The 43  hectare nature reserve is registered with the number 117 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled at the end of 1983 (date of regulation: December 15, 1983). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Plön.

The nature reserve is located between Neumünster and Plön in a depression in Holstein Switzerland in a system of tunnel valleys that was created during the Glacial Vistula . At its core, it puts the Fuhlensee and the areas surrounding it under protection. The Fuhlensee is part of the Bornhöveder chain of lakes in the Wankendorfer lake area . He is a silted Direction, shallow lake with floating leaf companies, from a wide silting szone with reeds surrounded. Alder forests border it. The area around the lake is predominantly characterized by wooded areas. In the peripheral areas, grassland areas are also included in the nature reserve.

Several watercourses run through the nature reserve, including the runoff from the Bornhöveder See to the Schierensee . The Fuhlensee is connected to this via a drain. The nature reserve is looked after by the nature conservation association Ruhwinkel.
