The Götzhöhe is a mountain north of Zschopau . It reaches a height of 493.3  m above sea level. HN .

location

The hilltop is to the east of the connecting road between Zschopau and Witzschdorf . It rises to the east over 200 m to the Zschopautal , to the south approx. 150 m against the Truschbach valley, to the west 100 m against the valley of the Gornauer Bach and to the north only approx. 50 m above the upper locality of Witzschdorf.

geology

The mountain lies in the transition area between gneiss and mica slate with several intercalated lenses of quartzite - slate that was extracted in a quarry. The expansion of the quarry created a gorge almost 200 m deep on the south-eastern flank of the mountain, which today has largely been filled.

reachability

From the connecting road Zschopau - Witzschdorf , the best way to get to the top is from parking spaces at the elevated tanks directly west of the road. Direct access to the summit is pathless from all sides. From Witzschdorf and Zschopau, the height can be reached via the corpse path leading past to the south . There is also a refuge at this point . From Gornau you can reach the mountain via the Heideberg, from Dittmannsdorf via the Diebsteig .
