The dominant building in the district is the Berliner Brücke

The former area of the DR (area of the Deutsche Reichsbahn ), then area of the Deutsche Bahn (area of the DB), is a district in the Halle district, eastern district of Halle (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

Most of the district is occupied by train stations and railway tracks. In the west it borders along the B 6 (Volkmannstrasse) on the Mitte district. In the middle part, the district is submerged by Delitzscher Straße, with the westernmost part of the street belonging to the area of the district. The east side of Ernst-Kamieth-Straße is also part of the district. In the north, the tracks are crossed by the Berlin bridge . Only the underpass and the bridge create the connections to the city center.

Infrastructure

In addition to the Berlin Bridge, which was newly built in 2006, the main building in the district is the main station, which was also redesigned in 2003 . The central bus station (ZOB) on Ernst-Kamieth-Straße was also rebuilt and modernized in 2010.

Not far from the Berliner Brücke, on Berliner Straße, is the entrance to the DB Museum Halle , which mainly exhibits Deutsche Reichsbahn locomotives in the old locomotive shed IV.

The ibis Styles Halle hotel is located on Delitzscher Straße near the train station .

Also in the area of the district in the immediate vicinity of the west exit of the main train station is a medical center with a pharmacy in Ernst-Kamieth-Straße, which also houses a senior citizens' home.

Residential areas belonging to the district, which only make up a very small proportion, are primarily to be found at the beginning of Delitzscher Straße.
