The Dautzsch is an elevation and the district of the same name in the eastern district of the city of Halle (Saale) . It is located between the old villages of Diemitz and Reideburg and has 1931 inhabitants.

history

The elevations are a group of hills, which are an offshoot of the Rothenburg-Petersberger high plateau. The area used to be surrounded by marshland and consists of the Großer Dautzsch and the Kleiner or Jauchen Dautzsch. In older documents the Dautzsch is also mentioned as "Dautz" or "Teutschfeld". In the Dreyhauptschen Chronicle, the Dautzsch is mentioned as "Dautz" and on maps from the 18th and 19th centuries it is shown as "Dautschfeld" or "anterior and posterior Dautzschfeld". Jacob von Stetten reported in 1679 about an excavation in 1675 on the Dautzschberge or Teutschberge.

The Dautzsch settlement has existed since the early 1930s, and the first houses were built in 1932. The place is in the east of Halle and, at that time, was still in front of the gates or outside the city of Halle in the Saalkreis , one of the old vegetable villages around Halle, where cucumbers and caraway seeds were especially grown. From 1932 the first 58 semi-detached houses were built by the settlement community. Each of these 116 semi-detached houses stands on a rectangular plot of land measuring around 1,000 square meters. All members of the settlement community and later owners of the houses built them together and did not know which of the houses they would move into later. After completion, a random decision was made as to which building owner was allowed to take possession of which house. With this procedure it was planned that all houses would be built in the best possible quality, get the same standard of equipment and none of the settlers would be disadvantaged.

At the end of the 1930s, as part of the Central German Flak Belt, 4 light anti-aircraft guns of Flak Regiment 33 were installed on the Dautzsch , which were part of the air defense concept in the greater Halle-Leipzig area. The foundations of the facilities can still be found today between the large and small Dautzschberg.

On the large Dautzschberg there is also an aerial observation bunker built in the early 1960s for the civil defense of the GDR . This bunker is a 5 × 6 meter small bunker with a gas lock and manual ventilation.

On July 1, 1950, the Dautzsch was incorporated into the city of Halle (Saale).

General

Hanfweg development area

The Dautzsch is a sought-after residential area, as there is extensive building land in this part of the city within the city limits of Halle, or arable land that was previously cultivated has been converted into residential areas. The vacancy rate in the district is 0.9 percent and is the lowest in the city of Halle.

The settlement had more than 1900 inhabitants in 2018. This corresponds to an increase in the population of over 50% compared to 1989.

In 1989, a community antenna system or a cable headend was built on the Dautzschberg, which is operated by the non-profit association, interest group Dautzscher Antenne and ensures the TV supply of the area via cable. Refinancing takes place through membership fees of 43 euros annually.

In order to represent the interests of the citizens in aspects of urban development, such as necessary street renovations, new roads, solving flood problems and combating aircraft noise caused by the nearby Leipzig / Halle airport, the Dautzscher Wohngemeinschaft citizens' initiative has existed in the residential property association since 2001 .

The communal infrastructure includes the sports field for soccer games of the district and youth league as well as the culture house built in the 1950s, which also includes a large hall in addition to a restaurant. This is used as a domicile for clubs, for guest performances by Halle's cabaret and as a polling station.

In terms of infrastructure, the district is directly connected to the B100 and BAB14 and, since December 2018, has also been connected to the B6 and B91 via the main access road Halle-Ost .

Others

In the crater of the Dautzschberg, which consists of porphyry, stones were broken for road construction so that a hole the size of half a football field was created in the middle. This hole was used as a bathing lake until it was backfilled in the early 1930s. After that there was a handball court and later were on the court until 1988 MotoBall - tournaments conducted later he was for a year by the end of 1990 held Osterfeuer used.
