Georg Buettner
Georg Büttner (born August 24, 1858 in Krotoschin , † October 24, 1914 in Flanders ) was a German architect and Prussian construction clerk . He is considered to be the main representative of Protestant sacred buildings in Berlin and the Mark Brandenburg at the beginning of the 20th century.
Live and act
From 1902 to 1907 Büttner was Brandenburg provincial curator and, as a supporter of the village church movement, represented in lectures and publications the view that the village church should form the center of a village in terms of its shape, furnishings and function. The religious renewal emanating from the country could also give positive impulses for the building industry. He published his articles a. a. in the magazine "Die Dorfkirche" published since 1907.
As a Prussian construction officer, he was entrusted with state construction work. From 1906 he also worked as head of the church building department of the Royal Consistory of the Province of Brandenburg .
He died on the evening of October 24, 1914 as a result of being shot in the head in Flanders.
