Görsbach is a municipality in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia . The city of Heringen / Helme is the fulfilling municipality for Görsbach .
location
Görsbach is located in an agricultural region . It is a village in the Golden Aue at the Kelbra dam east of Nordhausen . The foothills of the Harz Mountains begin at Uftrungen to the north and the floodplain is bounded by the Hainleite and the Kyffhäuser massif to the south. The federal highway 38 grazes the district of the village to the north. Görsbach itself is located on Landesstraße 3080. The village has a stop on the Halle – Hann railway line. Münden . The Aumühle district also belongs to Görsbach .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 772 as Gerhelmesbach . Originally surrounded by a wall, the area information referred to the upper and lower gate. With the immigration of the Flemings in the 12th century north of the wall on barren land, the area name Hofestatt was added. The Flemings and monks from the Walkenried monastery improved the floodplain. From 1952, the forced collectivization of farms took place in Görsbach .
One of the main attractions in Görsbach is the Church of St. Mauritius .
