Reports

background

After the Spanish Grand Prix , Kimi Raikkonen led the world championship ahead of Felipe Massa and Robert Kubica . There was an anniversary: Rubens Barrichello drove a GP for the 257th time and broke Riccardo Patrese's 15-year-old record . After the Japanese motorsport racing team Super Aguri was denied access to the racetrack at the Turkish Grand Prix, Aguri announced the withdrawal of his team from Formula 1.

Qualifying

In qualifying, Felipe Massa was on pole position for the third time in Istanbul in front of Kovalainen , Hamilton, Raikkonen, Kubica, Webber , Alonso and Trulli .

run

Before the race there was a message for Rubens Barrichello that the race started a little later than planned due to a problem. Then the start began. In T1, Fisichella and Nakajima touched . The race was over for both of them. Kovalainen and Raikkonen also got too close, causing Kovalainen to suffer a flat tire. The safety car had to go out because of Fisichella's rear-end collision. After the safety car, Raikkonen drove past Alonso and after the first few laps of the stops he overtook Kovalainen. Hamilton was clearly faster and tried to overtake Massa. He had stopped three laps earlier and passed on the track. Bourdais fell out after a suspension break. Then Hamilton pitted for the second time. But he had to make three stops. Later nothing happened except a battle. Massa won ahead of Hamilton, Raikkonen, Kubica, Heidfeld , Alonso, Webber and Rosberg .
