driver

Adrian Sutil , who still had a contract with Spyker, was named as the first driver . To name the second driver, Force India hosted a shoot-out that was attended by seven pilots. These drivers were the Spaniard Roldán Rodríguez (winter test driver at Spyker), Giedo van der Garde (2007 test driver at Spyker), Franck Montagny (test driver at Toyota Racing ), Christian Klien (test driver at Honda Racing F1 ), Giancarlo Fisichella (regular driver at Renault F1 ), Vitantonio Liuzzi (regular driver at Scuderia Toro Rosso ) and Ralf Schumacher (regular driver at Toyota Racing).

On January 11, 2008, the team announced the final driver combination. In addition to Adrian Sutil, Giancarlo Fisichella became a new regular driver and Vitantonio Liuzzi became a test driver.

2008 season

The season turned out to be quite unsuccessful. The team did not score any points and was second to last in the constructors' championship, ahead of the Super Aguri team, which only took part in four races of the season. In total, the VJM01 failed 18 times. The best result was a tenth place in Spain.

At the Monaco Grand Prix , Sutil almost managed to score the first points, but he retired early due to an accident through no fault of his own, while he was fourth.
