The Gundlach Construction and Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG is a construction and housing companies , property managers and service providers for commercial real estate . The company logo is the graphically designed letter G in orange that represents an enclosed space . The company, which is one of the first property developers in Germany, is based at Am Holzgraben 1 , the listed former Villa Köhler in the Oststadt district of Hanover .

The company was founded at the time of the German Empire in 1890 by the then bricklayer companion Friedrich Gundlach (born November 4, 1840 in Barkow in Mecklenburg ; † 1915 in Hanover), who received his master's title a few years later and - benefited by the train the industrialization thriving economy of the construction industry , particularly in the urban area of Hanover - his craft business could expand.

The development into a well-known construction business initiated by the company founder was continued by his son, the trained master mason Johann Gundlach. Under him, as well as his son-in-law Friedrich Otto, his son-in-law Peter Hansen and his son Lorenz Hansen, the company's offerings were expanded, in particular through the concrete and turnkey buildings built from the 1930s onwards .

In the post-war period , Gundlach initially concentrated on the construction and management of apartments in particular. In the following three decades, the company expanded its portfolio to include industrial engineering with support, administration and brokerage services , but also offers of commercial real estate and services for institutional investors and real estate funds .

At the beginning of the 21st century, the company, which is geared towards the capital of Lower Saxony and the surrounding area of the Hanover region , managed, among other things, a portfolio of around 4,000 apartments.
