Gustav Adolf Erdmann from the Chevallerie (born July 3, 1825 in Magdeburg , † July 19, 1912 in Stralsund ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Gustav came from the Brandenburg line of the original French noble family Chevallerie . He was the son of the Prussian Colonel Friedrich von der Chevallerie (1790–1850) and his second wife Wilhelmine, née Voigtel (1794–1863).

Military career

After visiting the cadet houses in Potsdam and Berlin , Chevallerie was transferred to the Prussian Army's 2nd Engineer Inspectorate on August 9, 1842 as an aggregated Second Lieutenant . For further training, he completed the United Artillery and Engineering School from October 1842 to July 1844 .
