Hütten is a town and part of the political municipality of Wädenswil in the canton of Zurich . Until the end of 2018, Hütten formed an independent political municipality , which, like Schönenberg, was incorporated into the city of Wädenswil on January 1, 2019 .
geography
Hütten is located on the Zimmerberg at the southern tip of the Horgen district. This makes Hütten the southernmost town in the canton of Zurich. The Hüttnersee lies in a hollow in the pre-alpine moraine landscape and is of natural origin. The Laubegg is a striking moraine hill of the Zimmerberg near the Hüttnersee. 54.0% of the former municipal area is used for agriculture, 36.2% is covered with forest, 2.3% is traffic area and 3.2% is settlement area, 3.2% is water (status 2007).
history
Ze dien Huitten was first mentioned in detail in 1270. The actual founding date of the Political Community of Hütten is December 15, 1799; the first community meeting took place on that day.
On May 21, 2017, as in Schönenberg , a referendum resolved to merge the municipalities with the city of Wädenswil on January 1, 2018. Due to ongoing objections to the merger, the implementation took place one year later.
The Federal Statistical Office (FSO) kept huts under the FSO number 0134 until they were incorporated into the city of Wädenswil .

At the end of 2017, 895 people lived in huts, 8.5% of them foreigners.
In 2017, 42.4% belonged to the Evangelical Reformed denomination, 35.6% to the Roman Catholic, 22.0% were members of another religious community or were non-denominational.
A district association was provisionally founded in Hütten on November 22, 2018, which cares for the interests of the population of the Hütten district. Bernhard Aebi has been president since the official founding meeting on March 19, 2019.
politics
Until the municipal merger of January 1, 2019, the village's executive was formed by the municipal council, of which each member heads a department. Legislative power was in the hands of the community assembly.
In the 2015 National Council elections, the votes of the population of Hütten at that time were split between the SVP 54.4%, the SP 10.1%, the GLP 6.8%, the FDP 6.7%, the BDP 6.3%, the CVP 5.3%, EPP 3.9%, Green Switzerland 2.9%, EDU 1.7% and AL 0.5%.
Verena Dressler ( independent ) was the mayor from 2014 until the congregation merged .
Churches
There are two churches in huts:
- The reformed church was built in the years 1855-1856 by Johann Caspar Wolff in the late classical style.
- The Roman Catholic Church of St. James was built in 1969 as a concrete church. Its design language refers to the Notre-Dame-du-Haut de Ronchamp church by Le Corbusier .
traffic
In terms of transport, Hütten is located at the southern end of the network of the Zurich Transport Association . The ZVV bus route 160, which PostBus Switzerland operates on behalf of the Sihltal-Zürich-Uetliberg-Bahn , connects Hütten with Wädenswil every half hour on weekdays and every hour on weekends. Cabins from lead secondary roads by Schoenberg , according Menzingen and on the main road Schindellegi - Samstagern .
