Hans-Rudolf Boehmer (born May 18, 1938 in Berlin ) is a Vice Admiral a. D. of the German Navy and was inspector of the Navy from 1995 to 1998 .

Life

Boehmer passed his Abitur in Duisburg and went to sea in the merchant marine . In 1959 he went to the Navy ( Crew IV / 59). There he was an instructor on the Gorch Fock . From October 1971 to September 1972 he was a lieutenant captain , from January 1972 a corvette captain , a ship operations officer on the destroyer Rommel . Then he took part in the admiralty staff training at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg until September 1974 and was then a staff officer in the Allied Command of the Naval Forces Baltic Sea Accesses . On January 1, 1975 he was promoted to frigate captain.

From April 1976 to December 1977 Boehmer was the Rommel's first officer and then moved to the Federal Ministry of Defense as a consultant (former designation: assistant consultant ) . There he became adjutant to the inspector general in January 1979 . From July 1981 to September 1983, from April 1983 as sea ​​captain , he was in command of the destroyer Lütjens . This was followed by a position as head of unit in the NATO Allied Forces Northern Europe command .

From October 1986 to September 1988 Boehmer was commander of the 1st destroyer squadron and then until May 1990 commander of the destroyer flotilla . In this position he was promoted to Flotilla Admiral on October 1, 1988 . May 1, 1990 Boehmer was as Rear Admiral Chief of Staff Joint Staff of the Navy and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy. Boehmer has been a member of the Rotary Club of Kiel since 1995 . From 2001 to 2004, Boehmer was the first chairman of the German high seas sports association HANSA .

Boehmer is married and has three children.
