His sonorous voice, coupled with its upright, respectable appearance predestined him for striking supporting roles, and until 1983 was followed by numerous television appearances, including in the role of German national in Egon Monk's film The siblings Oppermann and the defense in the miniseries farmers, big shots and bombs to Hans Fallada . After 1983 there is only work as a voice actor.

Heinz Giese was also often heard in radio play productions. In addition to his work for the radio, he was the regular spokesman for the popular children's series Bibi Blocksberg and Benjamin Blümchen . Even after he said goodbye to film and television dubbing in 1995, Giese spoke the role he began in 1980 and 1985 until 2007 and 2008. Generations of radio play fans will remember him as a dumb, but no less know-it-all and slightly corrupt mayor of Neustadt.

Heinz Giese was married to the actress Ingeborg Wellmann , who occasionally appeared at his side on television and in the radio plays mentioned. Heinz Giese died on October 19, 2010 at the age of 91.
