This means that the place is around 9 degrees cooler than the long-term average in the USA. The daily sunshine duration is at the lower end of the range of values in the USA, between September and mid-December it is even significantly lower.

history

The place was founded on June 21, 1762 (according to the Thompson reference given here ; other sources speak of June 24 or August 17, 1762. The community itself names September 9, 1762 as the date of foundation) and only reluctantly settled; The first settlement activities did not start until 1783/84. The first child in the Hinesburg area was born on April 1, 1785, about 23 years after the proclamation. The constituent city assembly took place on March 20, 1789; two years later the first parish was formed. The history of the place has been very calm since it was founded; nothing worth mentioning has come down to us.

Hinesburg has been largely agricultural since its foundation; In the early days of the village, the water power of three small watercourses was used to operate mills, which only satisfied local needs. The proximity of the industrial center of Burlington , which is a good 17 km north-northwest, has not resulted in any further industrialization.

Religions

Three parishes - a Roman Catholic , a Methodist and a branch of the United Church of Christ - are located in the village.
