Hugo Dreifert

Hugo Dreifert (born June 1, 1862 , † July 29, 1925 in Cottbus ) was a German lawyer and local politician .

Life

Dreifert came from a Cottbus merchant family . After visiting the school in Cottbus, he studied in Leipzig , Freiburg , Munich and Berlin law . In Berlin he also works as a court assessor . From 1894 to 1905 he was the second mayor of Cottbus. From 1905 to 1907 he was First Mayor and from 1907 to 1914 Lord Mayor of Brandenburg an der Havel , then Lord Mayor of Cottbus until his death from a stroke . There he campaigned for the foundation of the Heimatverein and promoted social housing .

Both in Cottbus and in Brandenburg an der Havel a street is named after him.
