Swords of the King - Dungeon Siege (Original title: In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale ) is a fantasy adventure film from 2007 by director Uwe Boll with Jason Statham in the lead role. The film is based on the computer game Dungeon Siege .

action

King Konreid rules the kingdom of Ehb. He is fought by the magician Gallian, who controls an army of jugs. The jugs are considered to be wild creatures incapable of wielding a weapon - so the magic of Gallian must be behind the armed jugs attacking the kingdom.

A farmer from the village of Stonebridge, whom everyone calls Farmer and whose origin nobody knows, is attacked by the Krugs, his wife Solana kidnapped and her son killed. Farmer sets out to free his wife and avenge the death of her son. His friend Norick and Solana's brother Bastian accompany him.

Gallian succeeds in administering poison to the king, but his life can be saved by his magician Merik. While trying to free Solana from the jugs, Farmer, Norick and Bastian are caught and also captured. Gallian wants to kill Farmer with a fighter he controls and whose eyes he can see. However, farmers manage to destroy it.

The magician Merik finds the wounded and weakened farmer, knowing full well what fate awaits the man, and brings him to the king. Merik reveals to the king that Farmer is his long-lost son Camden Konreid, who was found 30 years ago as a child on a battlefield by the residents of the village of Stonebridge and adopted by them.

King Konreid's nephew Duke Fallow, who has made a treacherous pact with Gallian, escapes from the king's castle with his guards and two legions. In the following battle he kills the king and believes that he is next in line to the throne, believing that he is the new ruler.

When Farmer, as the king's son, inherits the king, Fallow's plan has failed. One of the Krugs directly controlled by Gallian witnesses Fallow arrested and Farmer proclaimed the new king. Gallian then sends a huge army of Krugs to conquer the kingdom. He also finds out that Farmer's wife is under his control and that he is pregnant.

Farmer wants to find Gallian and kill him to put an end to the matter. He moves with Merik, his daughter Muriella, who had been exploited by Gallian, and the forest dweller Elora to Crystwind, a fortress that used to be a refuge for magicians.

Merik is the first to meet Gallian to distract him. At the same time, Bastian instigates an uprising inside the fortress together with other prisoners. In the duel between the two magicians, Merik is seriously injured. Farmer also manages to break into the fortress, followed shortly after by Muriella, who has meanwhile also matured into a magician. When Merik is dying, he transfers his magical powers to his daughter. She is now a powerful mage. Meanwhile, Farmer fights against Gallian. When Farmer threatens to lose, Muriella intervenes. Since Gallian is busy with the two, Solana takes the chance to attack Gallian from behind with a sword. Farmer manages to free himself and kill Gallian, whereupon the jugs controlled by Gallian turn back into ordinary animals and the fighting stops immediately.
