Isabel Emilia Edvardsson (born June 22, 1982 in Bergum Olofstorp near Gothenburg ) is a Swedish dancer and multiple German master in standard dances . She is best known as a professional dancer on the television show Let's Dance .

Life

Isabel Edvardsson has been dancing since she was 13. She completed a high school education in contemporary dance , ballet and jazz dance . At the age of 21 Edvardsson specialized in standard dance.

From 2003 to 2014 she lived in Braunschweig . There she is dance trainer with the Braunschweig Dance Company , the Rot-Weiss-Klub Kassel and the TK Blau-Gold Leipzig . In addition, she also works as a judge.

As a professional dancer she celebrated her greatest successes together with her dance partner Marcus Weiß . On December 8th 2007, Isabel Edvardsson and Marcus Weiß ended their active professional careers by winning the European Professional Standard Freestyle Championship in Balingen . They reached 14th place in the world rankings.

Isabel Edvardsson has lived in Hamburg since 2014 . It operates a ADTV - dance school with locations in Hamburg and Ahrensburg.

In the Let's Dance program on April 7, 2017, she announced that she was expecting a child with her husband and dance partner Marcus Weiß and could therefore no longer participate in the 10th season. Edvardsson gave birth to a son in September 2017.

Let's dance

Isabel Edvardsson took part in the RTL program Let's Dance twelve times from 2006 to 2020 , eleven times as a professional dancer and once as a juror. In 2019 she took part again as a professional dancer after a baby break. In 2011 she was a member of the jury for the Swedish edition of Let's Dance.

Mittagskinder Foundation

Isabel Edvardsson is the ambassador of the Hamburg Lunch Children Foundation . In the two meetings of the Children Foundation more than 200 children from "get social hot spots " in Hamburg free regular and healthy meals, help with homework and a professionally competent, social care.

Sternenbrücke children's hospice

As an ambassador for the Sternenbrücke children's hospice , an institution for children and young people up to the age of 27 with incurable or degenerative diseases, for whom curative therapies are no longer possible and who have a limited life expectancy, Isabel Edvardsson regularly collects donations.

Playboy magazine

In the September 2006 and May 2010 issues of the German Playboy , Edvardsson can be seen naked in a photo series. Furthermore, she already undressed for the men's magazines FHM and Maxim .

German Masters 2008

On October 4th, 2008 Edvardsson moderated the German Masters for professional Latin dancers in Braunschweig together with Danny Morgenstern . The event was broadcast live by NDR .

TV appearances

Isabel Edvardsson made a guest appearance as salsa competition judge Sabine Pesch in episode 2798 of the soap opera Verbotene Liebe , which was broadcast on ARD on November 8, 2006 .

From January 11, 2008 to January 25, 2008 Edvardsson was in the 3rd season of the RTL show Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here! in which she took fourth place out of ten participants.

In the ZDF telenovela Paths to Happiness , she played the young police superintendent Antje Blank in two episodes in early May 2008.

Since October 2016, Edvardsson has been on RTLplus in the program of Wheel of Fortune (with Jan Hahn ) on the advice wall, taking the place of the former “letter fairy” Maren Gilzer .

In January 2017 she took part in the It Takes 2 (RTL) singing competition .
