Isaiah Swann (born February 10, 1985 in Germantown , Maryland ) is an American basketball player and was under contract with the national division basketball team ratiopharm ulm from 2011 to 2012 .

Isaiah Swann attracted attention even before he started his professional career. During his high school years at Virginia's Oak Hill Academy, he played in the first nationwide live high school game against St. Vincent - St. Mary High School and today's NBA superstar LeBron James in late 2002 . After graduating from high school, almost a dozen universities vied for Swann in the summer of 2004, including renowned colleges such as Georgetown, Kentucky and Syracuse, but he opted for Florida State University , as they played in the Atlantic Coast Conference , which was supposedly the strongest at the time Conference of the NCAA . And there, too, in his four years he is entered in the history books. 172 successful 3-point throws are also the university's fifth-best value, as are the 456 attempted three-point throws. This corresponds to a hit rate of 37.7%, which puts Swann in 8th place in this list of the best. In addition, 328 assists and 139 steals each mean 11th place. In his senior year, the last at college, he was top scorer at FSU, he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in March, which forced him to take a break, which he first could start playing basketball again in July. At this point Swann had not fully recovered from the injury, the camps were already over, the teams were put together and the summer leagues had started, which is why he could not get a place on a team in the USA.

With two short-term engagements with Andrea Costa Imola in the second Italian division , Swann landed at Hapoel Gilboa Galil in Israel in early 2009 and was able to celebrate a success there in his first year by reaching the Final Four tournament and finishing third. In 2009/10 he succeeded in his second season with Galil Gilboa after a third place in the main round, the sensational title win, when the favorite and subscriber champion Maccabi Tel Aviv could be defeated in the final of the Final Four with 90:77. After a brief engagement in the Dominican Republic and the D-League , he moved to Maccabi Rishon LeZion for the 2010/11 season, where he and his team made it back to the Final Four. There, however, it was only enough to rank 4 after two defeats.

For the 2011/12 season Swann moved to the basketball league , the commitment was announced on July 4, 2011 by ratiopharm ulm . Swann was able to reach the final of the German championship with Ulm. There his team was defeated by the Brose Baskets Bamberg . For the 2012/13 season he left Germany again and joined Gaziantep BSB in Turkey. After a year, however, he returned to Germany and joined the New York Phantoms from Braunschweig.
