Jack William Stacey (born April 6, 1996 in Bracknell ) is an English football player . Mostly used as an attacking right full -back, he was trained at Reading FC and was part of the successful Luton Town team , which marched through from fourth to second division between 2017 and 2019.

Career

Stacey began his footballing career as an 8-year-old with Reading FC , which is based not far from his birthplace Bracknell in the county of Berkshire . There he went through various age groups before signing his first professional contract in December 2013. He made his debut in the last minute of the game against Ipswich Town on August 16, 2014 and in the further course of the 2014/15 season he made five other league games. In October 2015 he signed a new contract with the second division club until summer 2019, but in the following period he was denied the sporting breakthrough in Reading. Instead, his club loaned him to Barnet FC in the 2015/16 season, initially from the end of November 2015 to the end of the year, and from the end of March 2016 also for a month to Carlisle United , who were both in the fourth-rate Football League Two .

In late August 2016, he rejoined a fourth division club on loan, now called Exeter City . The duration should initially be limited to January 2017, but was later extended to the full 2016/17 season. Together with Exeter, Stacey moved into the playoff final for promotion to the third division, but lost there with 1: 2 against Blackpool . A short time later Reading let him go for good and Stacey found a new sporty abode at the fourth division Luton Town .

Immediately upon arriving in Luton, Stacey became a regular at right-back and in his first season started 44 of his 45 games. He made a significant contribution to the promotion to the third division by winning the runner- up . There Stacey could not only assert himself with his men, but also let the march as a third division champion into the second-rate EFL Championship follow. With his strengths, which could be found in an athletic style of play and assertiveness - defensive and offensive at the same time - he finally made a name for himself with more prominent English clubs. Ultimately, he moved to the Premier League for AFC Bournemouth in July 2019 , which provided him with a four-year contract.
