Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld , or Arnaut Groeneveld or Arnaut Danjuma (born January 31, 1997 in Lagos , Nigeria ), is a Nigerian - Dutch soccer player . He is under contract with AFC Bournemouth in England and was part of the Dutch senior team in 2018.

Career

Groeneveld, the son of a Nigerian mother and a Dutch father, moved to the Netherlands with his parents at the age of four and settled in Oss . He started playing football at RKSV Margriet and switched to PSV Eindhoven via the TOP Oss youth academy . In 2016 he moved to the NEC and made his debut in the Eredivisie on September 10, 2016 on the fifth match day of the 2016/17 season . At the end of the season he rose with the club from the Eredivisie. In the following season Groeneveld played regularly, but missed promotion with NEC.

In the summer of 2018 he moved to Belgium to the reigning champions FC Bruges and signed a four-year contract. As a result of an ankle injury, he was out there from October 2018 to March 2019. Just a year later he left the club for a transfer fee of € 15 million and joined the AFC Bournemouth .

National team

Groeneveld made his debut on March 22, 2018 in the 4-1 defeat in the friendly against Belgium in Doetinchem for the Dutch U-21 national team .

On September 26, 2018, he was invited to the Dutch senior team for the first time by bond coach Ronald Koeman with his nomination for the provisional squad for the game in Group 1 in the “League A” of the UEFA Nations League and for the friendly against Belgium . On October 5, 2018, he was appointed to the final squad. His debut came in the 3-0 success in the Nations League game against Germany in Amsterdam . A few days later, he scored his first goal for the Dutch senior team in a friendly against Belgium in a friendly in Brussels .
