Jane Seymour , OBE (* 15. February 1951 in Hayes , Middlesex than Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg ) is a British - American actress and film producer .

Life

Jane Seymour's acting training took place at the independent, musically oriented Arts Educational School, Tring Park in English Hertfordshire .

Seymour has worked as an actress since 1969 and played, among other things, the solitaire in the James Bond film Live and Let Die (1973) alongside Roger Moore . Because of her popularity in this film, she received the Silver Bravo Otto in Germany . In 1976 she played Princess Farah in the movie Sindbad and the Eye of the Tiger . Her best-known role is that of Dr. Michaela "Dr. Mike “Quinn on the TV series Dr. Quinn - a passionate doctor (1993–1998). In 2003 she took on the role of Genevieve Teague , the scheming mother of Jason ( Jensen Ackles ), in the fourth season of Smallville . Seymour was starred as Cathy in the film version of Beyond Eden as a television mini-series in 1982 and for Dr. Quinn was awarded a Golden Globe , received an Emmy ( Onassis: The Richest Man in the World ) in 1988 and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999. In 2007 she took part in the US dance show Dancing with the Stars , where she took 6th place with her partner Toni Dovolani.

In 1999 Seymour was named "Officer of the Order of the British Empire " and received US citizenship on February 11, 2005. She is also very active outside of the film business, among other things as the official spokesperson for UNICEF and as the international ambassador for the United States' Children's Aid.

Personal

Seymour's father is the British John Benjamin Frankenberg, her mother the Dutch Mieke van Trigt; Seymour grew up bilingual with English and Dutch .

Jane Seymour has eyes of different colors from birth ( iris heterochromia ), which means that the right eye is brown and the left eye is green.

Seymour was married several times:

  • In 1971 she married Michael Attenborough , the son of director Richard Attenborough . The marriage ended in divorce in 1973.
  • 1977 marriage to Geoffrey Planer, divorce 1978
  • 1981 marriage to David Flynn, divorce 1992
  • 1993 Marriage to fellow actor, director and producer James Keach , actor Stacy Keach's younger brother . The marriage was divorced in December 2015.

Seymour has four children, two from a third marriage and twins from a fourth marriage.
