Jean Bosc (politician)

Jean Bosc (born September 18, 1875 in Nîmes , † October 23, 1959 ibid) was a French politician. He was a member of the National Assembly from 1924 to 1928 and a member of the Senate from 1929 to 1939 .

Bosc, whose father Adolphe was also a member of the National Assembly, studied in Nîmes and Montpellier , where he obtained a doctorate in law in 1901. In 1904 he became city councilor of Nîmes and in 1913 a member of the general council , which he remained until 1940. In 1924 he also entered the National Assembly. There he joined the radical socialist Parti républicain . In 1928, however, he failed to be re-elected. After Fernand Crémieux's death , he was elected to the Senate in 1929 and confirmed in regular elections a year later. In the subsequent elections, however, he had to admit defeat to the equally radical Louis Mourier . He then worked as a journalist and lawyer until his death in 1959.
