Juuso Hietanen (born June 14, 1985 in Hämeenlinna ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Dynamo Moscow in the Continental Hockey League since May 2015 . His father Juha was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Juuso Hietanen began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HPK Hämeenlinna , for whose professional team he made his debut in the SM-liiga in the 2003/04 season . In his rookie year , the defender remained free of points in two games and also played three games as loan player for the Finnish U20 national team in the second-rate Mestis . In the following season he was loaned to HPK's league rivals Pelicans Lahti , for whom he was on the ice in 15 games. In the following years he became one of the regulars in his home team, with whom he won the Finnish championship title in the 2005/06 season . With this success, Hämeenlinna qualified for the IIHF European Champions Cup , in which Hietanen and his team took second place.
From 2007 to 2010 Hietanen was under contract for three years at Brynäs IF in the Swedish Elitserien in his first foreign station . He then moved within the league to HV71 , for which he scored a total of ten goals in 59 games in the 2010/11 season and gave 24 templates. For the 2011/12 season he was committed by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod from the Continental Hockey League . At Torpedo he was always one of the defenders with the highest points in the following four years and reached the play-offs three times. After the 2014/15 season, his contract with Torpedo expired and Hietanen was signed by HK Dynamo Moscow .
International
For Finland , Hietanen took part in the junior division of the 2005 U20 World Junior Championship . In the senior sector he was in his country's squad at the Euro Hockey Tour in 2010 and 2011 and at the 2010 World Cup . At the 2014 Olympic Games, he won the bronze medal with the Finnish national team.
