Dmitrij Jaškin ( Russian Дмитрий Алексеевич Яшкин ; transcription: Dmitri Alexejewitsch Jaschkin ; also: Dmitri Jaskin ; born March 23, 1993 in Omsk ) is a Russian - Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Dynamo Moscow from the Continental Hockey League since August 2019 stands. His father Alexej Jaškin was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Dmitrij Jaškin began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of HC Vsetín , for which his father had played very successfully for over a decade. From there he moved to the youth department of the capital club HC Slavia Prague in 2008 . As a junior player, he was selected in the 2010 KHL Junior Draft as the overall first by HK Sibir Novosibirsk . In the 2010/11 season , the winger played a total of 50 games in the Czech Extraliga for the professional team of Slavia Prague , scoring five goals and eight assists. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2011 in the second round as a total of 41st player from the St. Louis Blues , but then stayed again initially with Slavia Prague. In the 2012/13 season Jaškin was mainly active for the Moncton Wildcats in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec , where he was the best scorer within the team and finished fifth in the league with 99 points in 51 games of the regular season. In April 2013 he signed a three-year entry - level contract with the St. Louis Blues and was then sent to the farm team with the Peoria Rivermen in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Even in the pre-season preparation for the 2013/14 season , Jaškin could not prevail in the NHL squad and was again transferred to the AHL, to the new farm team of the Blues, the Chicago Wolves . It was only at the beginning of the 2014/15 season that the attacker reached a regular place in the Blues NHL squad and played 60 games in this season.
After more than five years in the organization of the Blues, Jaškin was supposed to be sent to the AHL via the waiver in October 2018 , whereby the Washington Capitals signed him . There he played only 37 games during the season and then returned to Europe, where he joined HK Dynamo Moscow in August 2019 .
International
For the Czech Republic , Jaškin took part in the 2011 U18 World Junior Championship . During the tournament he scored four goals and one assist in six games. The attacker made his debut for the senior national team at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey .
