The first Mori cabinet ( Japanese 第 1 次 森 内閣 , daiichiji Mori naikaku ) ruled Japan under the leadership of Prime Minister Yoshirō Mori from April 5, 2000 to the appointment of the successor cabinet on July 4, 2000. Mori succeeded April 1 Started Prime Minister Keizō Obuchi , who had fallen into a coma following a stroke ; until then, Mikio Aoki had temporarily carried out the office. The cabinet is the same as the previous one . After Obuchi's death on May 14 and a motion for a vote of no confidence by the opposition in the Shūgiin on June 2, Mori dissolved the latter on the same day. His election as LDP chairman and thus prime minister should now be confirmed by the people in the following Shūgiin election .
