The fourth Abe cabinet ( Japanese 第 4 次 安 倍 内閣 daiyoji Abe naikaku ) ruled Japan under the leadership of Prime Minister Shinzō Abe from November 1, 2017 until a cabinet reshuffle on October 2, 2018 . Previously, the House of Representatives election on October 22, 2017, the government majority of the coalition of the Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP for short ) and Kōmeitō had almost unchanged. On November 1, Abe was elected the 98th Prime Minister of Japan by both houses of the National Assembly and, like the other ministers, was appointed by Emperor Akihito on the same day . In terms of personnel, the cabinet was identical to the previous cabinet that was newly formed in August that year , which only ruled for almost 3 months and did not take part in any parliamentary debate, but there was a change in the division of responsibilities (gender equality). There was no change in the top LDP party posts, which were also newly filled in August.

All ministers were MPs in the National Assembly: including the Prime Minister, 16 came from the House of Representatives and four from the Senate . There were two women in the cabinet.

After the Cabinets Itō IV (1900-1901) under Itō Hirobumi and Yoshida IV (1952-1953) under Yoshida Shigeru , it happened with the formation of this government for the third time in the history of Japan that a "fourth cabinet" was created.
